A Living Faith

Last Sunday, Father’s Day, us three pastors, Ben, Dave, and myself, told about Biblical qualities each of our Dad’s possessed. Mine was working hard and being responsible, having a cheerful disposition, and showing love to your children and family. Although my Dad was not a Christian until late in life (about 70), and that he was a high functioning alcoholic, the fact that he provided for his family, was easy to live with, and showed love made such a difference in my life.

The point I would like to make is that we do not have a dead faith but a living one to be lived out. There are key Biblical character qualities and behaviors that when lived will make all the difference in ones life and in the lives of others; especially those close to us. Qualities like kindness, respect for others, humility, joy, etc.

To a big degree they are summed up in the Galatians 5:22-23 fruit of the Spirit. If one would bear those fruits in their lives how blessed they would be and would be to others!

My encouragement is for us to live our faith through Biblical qualities.
