A Reminder from Holy Week

I can’t stop thinking about our incredible Holy Week; beginning with Palm Sunday and culminating with Easter Sunday! It was such a meaningful week remembering what our risen Lord and Savior has done for us!

Jesus lived the most modest, simple life but what He did for us is indescribable.  He descended from heaven in the most humble way.  He showed us how to live by loving and serving others. He taught us about the kingdom of heaven and then He paid the price for our sins by dying on the cross so that we may live forever.  His resurrection is the most amazing miracle in history!

His time on earth was short but He accomplished what He had come to do.  Before He ascended into heaven, He gave each of His followers an assignment known as, The Great Commission.

16 Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. 17 When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. 18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:16-20

Shortly after his ascension into heaven, He sent the Holy Spirit, just as He promised.  The change in His disciples was miraculous!  They were new men!  Through the power of the Holy Spirit, the gospel spread and the Church was born. I know that through the supernatural power of the Holy Spirit, He can use each one of His followers (even me) in a miraculous way to accomplish His purpose.
