10 Can’t Fail Predictions for 2012

Posted: January 2, 2012 in Staff & Ministry Leaders

When I found out (about two weeks ago)  it was my turn to write the blog, I started to worry, what am going to write about this time.  Since then I believe God has shown me a few things from people around me, and I wanted to share them.   They aren’t anything amazingly profound, but I am amazed at how God uses people to show us what we need to pay attention to.

#1- Summer Stephenson’s song on Christmas morning-  beautiful song. It talked about Mary’s willingness to do what God had planned for her.  She was in a very difficult situation.  She was going to give birth to the Son of God.  She was not married.  She could have been stoned to death.  But instead she said “May it be to me as you have said” Luke 1:38. What if we had that attitude.  It would be amazing what could be done.  She was willing to do whatever God wanted for her life.  Are we willing to do it?

#2- Worry-  I was talking to someone last week about the position in life they are in.  They are in a time where their future is uncertain.  Most of us, including me, start to worry, when we don’t know what is to come, or we can not really predict what is to come.  But the comment this person said in general, was “Why worry about it,  I can’t do anything about it, God is in control.”   When my family was in a very similar situation, I know I never said anything like that.  Are we Control Freaks?  If we had the same attitude as this person does, just think where we could be.

I saw the following  as I was going through a weekly email I receive.   If we really believed these 10 Can’t Fail predictions, what would 2012 look like?  I challenge you to print these out and put them somewhere where you will see them all the time.  How will they affect your daily lives, with family, friends, our church family, our co-workers, and our community?

10 Can’t Fail Predictions

#1 The Bible will have all the answers (that we really need)

The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may follow all the words of this law.  Deuteronomy 29:29

#2 God will hear our prayers

The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears them;
he delivers them from all their troubles. Psalm 34:17

#3 The Holy Spirit can still change the world.

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Acts 1:8

#4 God will still keep His promises

God is not man, that he should lie, or a son of man, that he should change his mind. Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it? Numbers 23:19

#5 There are still only Two Ways to Live

For the LORD watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked leads to destruction. Psalm 1:6

#6 God will still love sinners like us

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.  For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. John 3:16-17

#7 Jesus will save any who come to Him

And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. Acts 2:21

#8 Jesus will not forget about his friends

My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. John 14:2-3

#9 God will not give up on you

being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. Philippians 1:6

#10 Everything you do in 2012 will be on the record

And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books. Revelation 20:12

I hope you have an awesome 2012.  I know I am looking forward to what is to come.  And hopefully I will do it with less worry, and more following of God’s will and not my own.
