“Aliens”

Posted: September 24, 2011 in Staff & Ministry Leaders

This last Wednesday for Kids Life Club we started talking about aliens in our Bible lesson.  Don’t worry, I really don’t believe in people from outer space.  But I do believe we are aliens.

The definition of alien is:  “Not a citizen in the country he or she now lives.”

If you are an alien in a foreign country you are different from those that are citizens of that place.  Your language is different, your culture is different, your holidays are different, and so on….

Here are three different ways we are different as Christians:

1. Different Home:

We have a different home, our eternal home is in heaven. Dallas,Salem, is not forever home.  God is preparing a place for us to live eternally.  We know this is not our permanent home.

2.  Different Language:

Of course we speak English here inDallas, but as a Christian, we should be speaking a whole different language.  The language of Love.  When you speak, can people tell that you love the Lord?  Is you have speech is uplighting and encouraging, or does it cause people to stumble and be discouraged.

3. Different Actions:

As Christians we should act differently.  By our actions people will know us.  Do your actions show Jesus?  Can someone tell where your heart is by your actions?  We should act completely different than those that do not have Jesus in their heart.  It is said that actions speak louder than words!!!  What do your actions say about you?

I challenge you.   Are you an “ALIEN”?  We should be proud of our alienness and not hide it from others.

Remember we aren’t an exclusive club, anyone can join, the only requirement is that you accept Jesus as your Savior and Lord of your life.  If you truly believe and have faith in our Lord and Savior, then being an alien won’t be hard,  it will be a joy!
